First Math Storytelling Day, celebrated in 2009.

Where do stories come from?

• We retell the classics, like Hilbert's Hotel Infinity.
• We use math anecdotes and jokes.
• We commiserate about horrible events from our childhoods that caused us math anxiety and make up fables on the topic.
• We can laugh with/at customers in search of math clues.
• We can bring in history, like the Betsy Ross star story.
• We can use math readers
